Building Trust and Safety in Care: Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct for Aged Care, designed for providers, leaders, workers, and volunteers, sets the standards for delivering compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care.

Upholding rights, promoting kindness, and prioritizing safety are at the heart of the Code, creating a trusted environment for aged care recipients and their families. It outlines essential behaviours—like respecting privacy, providing skilled care, acting with integrity, and raising concerns promptly—to protect participants’ dignity and well-being. At Gippsland Multicultural Services (GMS), we’re committed to supporting all our staff in meeting these standards through training and resources.

Remember, non-compliance with the Code can lead to serious actions, such as worker bans or provider sanctions, to protect participants. Let’s work together to uphold these standards and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment in aged care.
